Sustain the Family House

Description of the project

Planned in May 2012 and opened in September 2013 in the presence of local authorities and the Italian Ambassador in Uganda, His Excellency Stefano Dejak, the house is equipped with a solar photovoltaic system and can accommodate up to 24 women and their relatives in four different rooms. A staff of three people supervise the home, with duties covering 7/7days and 24/24 hours.

The Family House was donated by Salini Impregilo Costruzioni to Nsambya Hospital. The House equipment and furniture was supported by Lottomatica and many other donors, like Paula and Mariano.

Every year, companies can sustain one or more rooms of the Family House, covering all maintenance costs.

Objectives

Provide shelter and a safe place for women, coming from distant villages to undergo chemotherapy inNsambya Hospital.

Beneficiaries

Women affected by cancer and their relatives.

For one year: the blue room € 5,000; the red room € 3,000
